Dreamer or Doer?

I just became a member of a creative online community called  Dreamers into Doers, an affilate of Martha Stewart. When I first filled out the simple questionnaire, I had to ask to myself, "Am I still dreaming or am I doing what I love to do?"

Drop by my page on  Dreamers into Doers  and say "Hello!"

As far as I can remember, I have always been a dreamer and a doer. In junior high school, I recall selling personalized graffiti name art to my classmates to slip into the front of their clear faced binders. I would give them the option to choose three colors for $3 and $1 extra for a protective plastic sleeve. Word of mouth spread like wild fire but soon supply and demand got the best of me. Sadly, I had to stop taking orders.

The story still remains true today, I am a dreamer but definitely a doer. I try to take an opportunity and make it into something creatively meaningful.

Being a doer is not a easy task. Aside from being a stay at home mom, I design/handcraft all my products, run two online shops, market, promote and take on everything else that comes along with it. It can be very stressful and time-consuming but I am having a blast on this crazy creative journey...

Enjoying what I do is all that matters to me right now.

  4. I have to say, I am, like you, both. I have a tendency to not want to dream even though I naturally do- I didn't like to be a dreamer, because there were too many times that I had been disappointed by other people and life... This is exactly why I am a doer! I get things done because I do! Others may or may not and if I want to do something, I will! :) (Heatherlyn)

  11. I am both a dreamer and a doer. Most people dream first and then do, but I actually started doing first and then it became my dream to keep on doing it. :) Let me explain a little more. I am a graphic designer and had been working in the stresses of the corporate world for many years. I started designing paper goods and other items on the side as a creative outlet. When the recession hit, I lost my corporate job. While I was looking for another job, I started focusing my energies on my side "creative outlet" project. There were no jobs to be found so I kept plugging away. I kept working hard on my side project and it started to grow. It grew into a viable business because of all my "doing" and now I dream that it will continue to flourish. :)

  12. When I first read this I thought I was still a dreamer. Because where I am right now wasn't part of the "dream" I had ten years ago. But just because I'm not living that dream, it doesn't mean I'm not "doing". I'm doing what my heart calls for right now and that is raising my two wonderful children!

So to answer the question: I am a doer. But for now, still dreaming.

  13. I am a new follower of your blog, and I am already a liker on facebook.
I would have to say I'm both a doer and a dreamer because I'm still plugging away making new crochet creations for my business, but I'm still dreaming of making it big. Our dreams fuel the power behind our convictions and give us a chance to be a kid when responsibility weighs heavy on our thoughts.

  14. For starters I love your blog and I've learned so much about you from them!

I am a "dreamer" at this point in my life I often find myself dreaming up career endeavors that I can succeed in but also have the flexibility to continue being an active role in my daughters lives! That has been what holds me back from pursuing a career is having to have someone else raise my daughters so I can have a career and it would be selfish of me. I LOVE being a homemaker, watching my girls flourish has been amazing! Although, I do plan to become a "doer" once Brionna starts preschool and I have that free time.

Thank you for being a "doer" and creating such beautiful one of a kind hair accessories! Keep doing what you do Lea!xoxo

  15. I'd say I'm both. In order to do something, you must first start with a dream.
